Sheffield Youth Programmes
A Safe Place to Belong, Grow, Learn and Have Fun
Pitsmoor Youth Club (PYC) is a welcoming and inclusive space for young people aged 8-19. We bring young people from all cultures and backgrounds together to have fun, build relationships, try new things and take part in opportunities that help them grow.
Based across Sheffield and using venues across the local community, PYC is more than just a youth club. We provide sport, creative activities, outdoor education, youth work, longer-term development programmes and pathways for young people to get involved and progress.
Free for young people.
At the Heart of the Community
PYC is about more than activities. It’s about creating positive spaces where young people can meet others, try new things, develop confidence and feel part of their community.
We want young people to have opportunities to experience new activities, explore their interests and build skills that can support them both now and in the future.
What We Offer

Football
Our football sessions take place on Mondays at Verdon Centre, providing young people with an opportunity to get active, develop their skills and enjoy sport in a positive environment.

Climbing
On Thursdays at Foundry, young people can take part in climbing and experience something different.
Climbing provides opportunities to challenge yourself, develop confidence and work towards new goals, while having fun and spending time with others.

Girls Group
Our Girls Group creates a dedicated space for girls to come together, build friendships and take part in activities that celebrate their interests, culture and identity.
Activities include Somali dance, cultural activities and other opportunities designed to bring young people together in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Life Skills
Life Skills is a 6–8 month development programme that combines personal development, outdoor adventure and challenge.
Young people work towards the programme through fundraising and practice walks, before taking part in a shorter residential and ultimately a week of winter mountaineering in the Cairngorms.
It is about much more than the final challenge. The journey gives young people opportunities to prepare, work together, take responsibility, step outside their comfort zone and discover what they can achieve

Outdoor Learning
During school holidays, PYC provides opportunities for young people to take part in activities, make friends and stay active.
The outdoors is one of our main tools for engaging young people. Through activities such as hill walking, canoeing, climbing, residential experiences and days at the Hollowford Centre, young people can experience challenge, adventure and new environments while developing confidence and skills.
Long term development
Throughout our programmes, we believe young people benefit from having positive relationships, safe spaces and opportunities to try things they may not otherwise experience.
We also provide opportunities for young people to take part in longer-term programmes and pathways, giving them the chance to develop personally, take on new challenges and progress over time

Grow Your Own
Our programmes are designed to give young people different ways to engage. Some may simply want to come along, have fun and spend time with friends. Others may want to take on new challenges, develop skills or become involved in longer-term opportunities.
Whatever their starting point, PYC aims to provide a pathway for young people to grow in confidence, develop their skills and play an active role in their community.
